On May 24, 25 and 26, 2024, (re)discover the 1st Contemporaine de Nîmes on the occasion of its intermediate weekend, marked in particular by two key events featuring dance, theater and performance.

PROGRAM

Each event listed below is free and open to the public, without prior reservation, unless otherwise indicated.

FRIDAY MAY 24

  • From 10am: open visit of the exhibition “La Fleur et la Force”. On presentation of the Pass Contemporaine de Nîmes, see details here.
  • 2-8pm: Tiny Market / Urban Flea Market at Le Spot, a streetwear mini-market with lots of mini-prices, retrogaming, prizes to be won, food and a DJ set from 6-8pm.
  • 6pm: meeting with philosopher Vinciane Despret as part of the “G(HOSTED)” project by Prune Phi and SMITH in the Carré d’Art auditorium.
  • 8-10pm: live recording of the show “Mange que tu fréquentes”, at Maison Nîmes s’illustre.

SATURDAY MAY 25

  • From 10am: open visit of the exhibition “La Fleur et la Force”. On presentation of the Pass Contemporaine de Nîmes, see details here.
  • 10am-1pm: public workshop with Copie Machine at the Bob Calle Documentation Center in Carré d’Art.
  • 2pm: artist encounter with Won Jy at the On/Off as part of his solo exhibition “Extra-muros”.
  • 2-8pm: Tiny Market / Urban Flea Market at Le Spot
  • 4pm: Book Club n°2 at Pamela Artist-run space, Margaux Fontaine presents an edition co-produced by Riga and Pamela
  • 4pm: screening of Rayane Mcirdi’s film La Promesse at Le Sémaphore cinema. On presentation of the Pass Contemporaine de Nîmes, subject to availability.
  • 6:30-7:30pm: “Le Jeu”, with dancer and choreographer Dimitri Chamblas and some 30 amateur performers and dancers in the courtyard of École élémentaire La Placette.
  • 8:30pm: “La Sortie Théâtre”, with artist Ndayé Kouagou and students from the Lycée Philippe Lamour. Reservations required on this link.

*Exceptionally, the House at l’Hôtel-Dieu will remain open until 8pm on Saturday May 25!

SUNDAY MAY 26

  • From 10am: open visit of the exhibition “La Fleur et la Force”. On presentation of the Pass Contemporaine de Nîmes, see details here.
  • 10 am-10 pm: “Mother Nature”, plant and print market at Hôtel-Dieu as part of House held by Nîmes s’illustre (stalls, plant and cuttings barter, creative workshops, refreshments and snacks throughout the day) and Sunday aperitif from 5 pm.
  • 4pm: screening of Rayane Mcirdi’s film La Promesse at Le Sémaphore cinema. On presentation of the Pass Contemporaine de Nîmes, subject to availability.
