He graduated from the screenplay department of La F\u00e9mis in 2020. He directed his first documentary film, &#8220;Avant d&#8217;oublier Heliopolis&#8221;, and an experimental film, &#8220;L&#8217;\u00e9toile bleue&#8221;, supported by the Doha Film Institute and AFAC, which was presented in 2020 at the International Visions du R\u00e9el Festival in Nyon (Switzerland), in the international competition. His first fictional short film, &#8220;Les Filles destin\u00e9es&#8221;, was supported by the CNC and is currently in distribution. In 2021-2022, he was in residency at Artagon Marseille and created a new video and installation titled &#8220;Pacific Club&#8221;. Supported by the Doha Film Institute and the \u00cele-de-France region, it was nominated for the 2024 C\u00e9sar award for best documentary short. In 2022-2023, his work was selected for the Salon de Montrouge (Paris) and the Getting Real Biennial (Los Angeles), among others. In 2023, he was in residence at the Ateliers M\u00e9dicis (Paris), the Villa M\u00e9dicis (Rome), and Lafayette Anticipations (Paris). As a filmmaker of the disappearance, Valentin Nouja\u00efm stages political and fantastical tales. His research revolves around three main themes: improvised lives, compressed lives and vanished lives.
